ALTER member Siwen Ning has just published Fragmentos del Celeste Imperio. La representación de China y su imagen literaria en la España del siglo XIX (Iberoamericana, 2020).

Based on Ning’s doctoral dissertation, the book traces representations of China in the Spanish illustrated press, travel narratives and fiction in the 19th century.
